I am guessing that this bed was made around the time this house was built, which is a lovely home in a lovely established neighborhood. The home owners wanted the bricks removed, a new wall built with natural rock and perennials planted that they could cut and bring into the house. The bed has everything from full sun on one end to mostly shade on the other. There is Joe Pye weed, a native plant that can take some shade, Astilbe’s and ferns among others on one end, blending into a variety of more sun loving perennials like Salvia ‘May Night’, Beard tongue ‘Prairie Splendor”, and Seedum ‘Autumn Joy to name a few.
